The proof of Simpsons' power & influence

'Meh' is now in the dictionary

LONDON- The expression of indifference has gained a place in the Collins English Dictionary after generating a surprising amount of enthusiasm among lexicographers.

The origins of 'meh' are murky, but the term grew in popularity after being used in a 2001 episode of The Simpsons in which Homer suggests a day trip to his children Bart and Lisa. "They both just reply 'meh' and keep watching TV...

..Interent forums and email are playing a big part in formalising the spellings of vocal interjections like these."

-Mr Cormac McKeown, head of content at Collins Dictionaries
now, how cool is that huh. Something that originated from America is interjecting into British English. And that something is from my favourite cartoon series.

Something else from the papers too: i am suffering from dry eyes. and tt causes the itching and scratching of my eye tt i thought i'll be blinded by every night. The culprit could be the position of my computer screen.
Reading from a screen that is placed above your eye lvl forces you to look upwards. When you look upwards, blah blah (insert part of eyes and big words) --> therefore eye is exposed to evaporation and drying.
Even positiong your screen in line with your sightline- something which has always been thought to be sound- should be avoided.
Solution: to lower the height of the computer screen so that your eyes are looking slightly downwards. But of course, make sure that it's not too low that you have to hunch your back too much.
Mostly occurs among office workers.
Other causes of Dry Eyes:
  • doing stressful stuff (Check)
  • wearing contact lenses (Check)
  • lack of sleep (Check)
  • certain medications (Check - redbull haha)
  • ageing (Check)
  • hormonal changes e.g menopause (Ignore)

Most interesting fact:

It cannot be cured.

But, control is possible.

This is what someone said:

I passed mine in my first attempt, can't really remember how many points i got, 8 or 12 i think...:) my advice to would be drivers is to be composed, confident and control & feel the car and the driver as a single entity. Feel integrated with the CAR!!:D

And the reply was:

Only crash victims feel integrated with the car.

HAHA, good joke.

i should be studying, i should be studying, i should be studying, i should be studying.
